GREENPEACE 80x140 cm x 2 pieces, 2015

Metra Saberova is from Riga, Latvia and is currently studying for her MA Fine Art degree at Central Saint Martins, London.

She uses her own experience of traveling to Bangkok, Thailand at the age of 23 to undergo a sterilization procedure in order  to talk about the problematics of the equalization of women with motherhood and thus the constraints of the natal policies imposed by both the state and social order. Her body of work consists of painting, small scale installations and videos of performative acts - deliberately approaching serious issues with a playful attitude.
